I belong to a tribe that doesn't even exist yet. It is called "HamaNar"; the "People Of Hope". It is intended to be the first tribe of Narbarism, but this may not turn out this way.
Right now and since 1963, Narbarism has been my refuge from Modern Capitalist Culture. A cyber space or web place, mostly, where I can try and turn what "Should Be" into reality. I say "mostly" because there are some real things that are Narbarian. A few pieces of leather and rustic woodcraft.
But Narbarism will, for a long time, be dependent on the very culture that spawned it. I guess one could say that Narbarism is a modified form of the American Culture.
But this is enjoyable. A great hobby, one might say. Making something More and Better. More worthy of Creator. Less selfish and wasteful. Kinder to Humanity and Our World.
I guess it does truly exist for me. A very satisfying escape from the world as We know it.

Hi Michael, I think integrating Facebook into iOS is very important for both companies. Both sides have something the other wants. Facebook has a near monopoly on social and Apple has a killer mobile platform. They want to hook up but they don't want to pay the price.

I think you have this right, except perhaps the OS integration into FaceBook. Is it really that important? Perhaps for iTunes, but not at the operating system level. So, I would expect to see more integration at an application level....

Neither the TV nor telephone can enable us to create new relationships around the globe the way that social media enables us today. TV doesn't enable us to create relationships with others at all and the telephone enables us to upkeep the relations we already have.

I believe companies should have their own websites using social media as a channel to reach their different publics for two reasons:
1. Social media platforms will come and go with folks moving on to the next shiny object. A business should always have a place to come home to.
2. Intellectual property rights since a company owns its website and the content. That often isn't the case with some of the social media sites. Facebook comes to mind.

Great tips! With the social media becoming an important marketing tool for any business, it is wise to maximize its potential. I do agree that you do need to choose your social netowrking sites wisely - don't just sign on to what is most popular. We have to remember that we still need to strategize the how and where when it comes to social media.
